Welcome to my Marathon Blog! I will try to keep you updated with progress toward my goal of running the Milton Keynes’ marathon on 02/05/22. Keep checking back here for updates and please consider making a donation below!

I just had the ‘best’ time! It was special, splendid, wonderful, fun, empowering and revitalizing! I did not let anyone down 🙂 This I am eternally grateful for. I was able to talk to people throughout and people commented on how strong I was. Comments such as ‘you look so powerful’ and ‘I don’t think […]

Feel totally fine! How amazing is that. No injury/injuries that I know of. I practiced running and eating haribo! he he. was great. Only thing to learn is to know when I am down to my last one! And I may not be Usain Bolt but I am thinking like this: ‘Worrying gets you nowhere. […]

Only half an hour. I guess ‘they say’ to do this so enough to loosen up/keep fitness but not too much to give any strain so as to get the body ready for the big day. All went well. I also practiced running with a running vest…. still not sure whether to take one or […]

I always seem to run faster when I am with the club so I decided this would be my ‘tempo run’. I also greatly benefit from talking to them about all sorts including advice on the marathon. This time I asked questions about music and podcasts. I was sad to hear that a fellow runner […]

The instructor said anyone who beats Sophia sprinting will get a free session – no one did! Someone asked me if I had always been good at sprinting. I said I’d always been picked as a forward for hockey as supposedly I am fast, but equally was thinking in my head I think me running […]

I have just loved running the long distances so I am happy that I have done my last long run at the same time I am very happy that I also feel like I could keep going… in a way I am… just a longer rest and then the BIG ONE! YAY! The run was […]

Great session. I stayed a little back from my ‘full potential’ as I was planning a more muscle session as I ran a lot only recently. Worked well as I was able to get to know someone by keeping at their pace. Went to a new part of the area and it was beautiful!

Robin and I are writing thank you cards to those local people we know who have donated. A small appreciation. I used this run to drop them off. It is great for getting to know peoples names and where they live :). It was a ‘steady’ run. Very nice.

Nothing like a bit of Queen to get you up the hills! Great cross-country run. All the hills makes it great for stretching calves and generally it being harder than flat so brilliant training. There is a Queen Tribute Band 2.30 – 4.30 at the Marathon. Come along!?

I kept it local so could wish everyone I saw a Happy Easter. The resting for me for days at a time – as in no running – seems that my muscles like calves get tight. This is fine as after a few km it goes however I think even if I just do a […]
