Born and raised in Hong Kong, I attended Syracuse University in New York, where I graduated with my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Information Management. While I enjoyed my field of study, my heart was always set on becoming an airline pilot. Attending university in New York allowed me to take up flying lessons during school breaks in Toronto, where I had family. It took three summers, but I gained my PPL in 2015. Holding British Citizenship, I came to the UK to complete an integrated course, qualifying with my frozen ATPL in 2017.

With hard work and perseverance, I was taken on by Flybe in 2018 as a First Officer on the Dash-8 Q400. Working at Flybe gave me a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable hands-on flying experience, while also allowing me to build on my non-technical competencies. I also started looking into developing my command skills, as I edged closer to unfreezing my ATPL and upgrading to Senior First Officer at Flybe. Logging just shy of 1000 hours on type (1246 total hours), I was brought on as a First Officer by British Airways on the Airbus A320 fleet in 2020. I had completed the ground school exams, and was due to start the simulator phase of training when my A320 type rating course was suspended as a result of the COVID pandemic. I was subsequently made redundant at the end of August 2020.

Despite the setback, I am determined to do whatever it takes to remain in the industry that I am passionate about. I truly believe I have the quality and reliability to become a contributing member to to your organization’s success, whether it be in the flight deck or other areas of the company’s operation.
