Pilot
London, UK
Willing to Relocate
Passports Held: UK
I joined British Airways on the A320 fleet in April 2019, and I was among the unfortunate group of pilots who received a letter of redundancy back in August 2020.
I graduated from my degree in Air Transport Management alongside my flight training in 2013 and was selected to join a unique internship program at FlightSafety International, Farnborough. My role was to assist the clients with their type specific training on various of the aircraft simulators at the centre, and I enjoyed taking on additional enrichment courses available to enhance my professional skills as a pilot.
As the internship came to a close I went on to fly for a private jet company who utilises the facilities at Farnborough for their training. Flying for GlobeAir I was exposed to a fast pace operation in and out of various special airports around Europe on a regular basis, dealing with high net worth clients each flight. I soon took on the additional role of Compliance Manager Deputy at GlobeAir which involved ensuring the safe and airworthy operation in accordance with EU-OPS.
I furthered my career by moving into the airline sector, flying for BMI Regional on the Embraer 145 regional jet until they sadly went into administration, and more recently for the last eighteen months have been flying for British Airways until my redundancy was issued due to COVID. My professional manor, dedication to the job and likeable character are a few of the reasons I was taken on, and prior to my redundancy due to my familiarity with simulators and my continued interest in eventually becoming a trainer I was trained as a Sim Panel Operator as part of a voluntary service to allow pilots to develop their skillset.
Throughout the pandemic whilst flying was minimal I volunteered at a local hospital providing the key workers with a complimentary café to allow a safe environment for them to unwind and relieve work pressures.
